    This course provides an opportunity for teachers to take an in-depth look at two comprehensive professional texts -- “How Did You Get That? Seven Strategies For Improving Written Responses in Math” by Bill Atwood for grades 3-12 teachers and "What Successful Math Teachers Do" for grades K-5 teachers by Edward S. Wall and Alfred S. Posamentier -- and to focus on student writing in the math classroom.

    Math Literacy 4: Research-based Math Approaches

    This course explores a variety of ways to engage students as they continue to integrate the PLN frameworks (The Five Mathematical Processes and The Four Lenses of Learning) in the mathematics classroom.

    Brain Biology’s Impact on Math

    In this class, participants explore the brain biology and processes needed to be successful in mathematics, working memory, executive function, the emotional brain, how the brain coordinates various processes to make math happen and what to do when students get stuck.

    In this course for secondary teachers, participants participants learn and share a variety of practical strategies and evidenced-based frameworks for integrating PLN into their schools to encourage student engagement with rich reading, writing, talking and listening best practices.
